Medvedev Approves List of Accepted Diplomas

Russian prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has approved the list of foreign university diplomas accepted in Russia, says the government press release.

The list includes over 200 foreign universities from 25 countries, including the universities of Vienna (Austria), Sao Paolo (Brazil), Oxford, York, Cambridge, Royal College of London, London School of Economics and Political Sciences, Glasgow University (UK), Bonn , Hamburg, Munich Polytechnic (Germany), Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland), University of Barcelona (Spain), University of Bologna (Italy), Toronto and Montreal (Canada), Nanking University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (China), Yale, California (Los Angeles), Princeton, Cornell (USA), Strasbourg (France), Basel, Zurich, Geneva (Switzerland), Stockholm (Sweden), Tokyo Technology Institute, University of Tokyo (Japan).

Earlier, the Russian government approved recognition criteria for foreign diplomas. According to the document, diplomas by the Top 300 Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings and The Times Higher Education World University Rankings will be accepted in Russia by default.

In December 2011 President Dmitry Medvedev signed the federal law on simplified acceptance of international diplomas in Russia and awarding title and qualification. The law is effective 1 February 2012.
