Russia and Germany Sign MIFC Cooperation Agreement

Russia and Germany will cooperate on the project of creating an international financial center in Moscow, with a memorandum signed between the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Federal Ministry for Economy and Technology of Germany on 30 January in Berlin, says the Ministry for Economic Development release.

The Memorandum was signed as part of the joint Russo-German workgroup on strategic cooperation in economy and finance. “The document reaffirms and underscores the finance dialogue between Russia and Germany, declaring the will of both countries to further develop cooperation in creating an international financial center in Moscow with the help of Russian and German companies“, says the press release.

The key points of the Memorandum refer to the analysis of best practice of assessment indices for IFCs, exchange of experience in social and economic reform in Moscow and the Moscow region, cooperation in corporate governance and the will of the both countries to actively support the MIFC development.

Russia and Germany will develop the MIFC indices, boost the positive image of Russia as an IFC abroad, identifying the key MIFC infrastructure components in Moscow, sharing information on organizational, financial and other key conditions for MIFC development.
