Medvedev to Hold Meeting on MIFC Infrastructure

29.01.2013 08:02 / Interfax

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will hold a meeting on Tuesday on the use of Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye municipality for the needs of Moscow International Financial Center.

According to the Government press office release, the meeting will be attended by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, MIFC Taskforce Head Alexander Voloshin, the President-CEO of Sberbank German Gref, and international experts.

The press office release states that the MIFC project originated in 2008, when the global economic and financial crisis called for the diversification of Russian economy, including the creation of a competitive finance industry and financial services market.

A government decree of 11 July 2009 approved the MIFC action plan, most of which has been put into practice.

Today, Sberbank proposes a project for housing MIFC infrastructure in Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye. The 460-hectare district is located between Novorizhskoye and Rublevskoye Highways in the Western Administrative District.

"MIFC infrastructure is a major growth hub for the entire Moscow aglomeration, based on a poly-centric city development concept, aimed at creating jobs, boosting tax revenue and creating a comfortable urban environment. Another key MIFC factor is a well-developed transport infrastructure", states the release.
